I called to check the status of my application. The rep said it's still pending, but it is close to get approved. I asked her what it meant. She said they're waiting to assign an account number. I've never heard this before and I hope it's true that my application will eventually be approved. I currently have a CO, a Sapphire, and an old fee-free Chase card. I recently closed a UA card for the Sapphire.
