Also, the Pullman is the best option for wine lovers!
Probably my favourite hotel in Bangkok - also love VIE at the next BTS Ratchathewi - for all the reasons mentioned in the forum, but one was ignored. The Pullman has the best option wine bar in BKK for wine lovers - simply called the Wine Pub. Great atmosphere, good entertainment, but - most importantly - good wines at reasonable (for BKK, that is) prices. They seem to specialise in getting little known labels from around the world, but all well selected. The manager certainly knew his stuff, and if you take advantage of the special promotions you can eat and drink very cheaply.
By the way, Pullman is becoming a favourite brand for me in Asia. Appears to be 5-star "without the frills" of some of the luxury brands. Stayed at Pullman Auckland last week and it was very good. Got upgraded to one of the "residences"(suites) because of AClub status and it was sensational. Also the best fitness and health spa (incl biggest indoor swimming pool) that I've experienced in NZ. Also a great location. I stayed there about three years agio when it was a Hyatt, but looks/seems a lot better. Does anyone know when Pullman took over?
Normally I stay at Hotel DeBrett in AKL, but I might consider changing to Pullman permanetly after my experience.
