my friend told me of a person who had found out his job was ending. His brother had been arrested and he had a curable but painful disease. Because of this he had to pull a second loan on his home to post bail for his brother and even use credit cards to help pay it.
As I sat there listening to this tale I had to blurt it out... had to:
Yeah but did he earn miles and on what airline?
It's seriously all I think about. I would be a horrible date. Everything is miles. If it's not, it's coins. They are cash so no miles, but then again if you pay with coins that you got WITH a miles earning CC then you did get miles. I hate seeming people pull out a bunch of cash to pay for things in stores. I often am tempted to lean over and offer to pay it on my CC and take their cash. I think I really will do it if I see someone dealing in over $1,000 in cash for something!
I could go on--and will in further posts--but I cant. I need tea, that I bought because there was some deal on the box or something. Some rebate or whatever, which is kinda sorta like miles in a way but not but you know what I mean so yah.
Miles and points have made me money--rather, saved it. I mean... if you go on a trip to Disney for 4 people at the last minute and spend the equiv of $3500+ in 5 days doing everything you want and staying in a property resort, and EVERYTHING is covered BECAUSE of points, miles and that Capital One match thing, then yes. You made or saved money.
