Well before that...Try 1995 - 2000 or so, IIRC. Back around the time they also had Snapple.
As for the OP's question, DL just partnered with Seattle's Best coffee. So there is pressure to have a reasonably decent coffee brand on board. That said, CO hasn't really hesitated on being the only one with a negative in various areas (e.g., only carrier with F drink charges, no pillows in F, and IFE charges in Y), so with CO involved, anything could be on the table.
