This is posted in the April promotion thread, but I think it's also relevant to this one since it's about the Hyatt Card.
Interestingly, Hyatt Card holders will get an additional 5,000 points after staying the initial 5 nights for the April promotion (for a total of 15,000 points). I think this is significant because it's the first bonus (other than the sign-up bonus, of course) being offered only to Hyatt credit card holders.
Going forward, it'll be interesting to see come August/September when the first accounts are up for renewal, whether Hyatt and Chase will throw in a tangible benefit for renewing (such as the Priority Club and Marriott Chase cards, which throw in a free night every year-- although the latter is restricted to lower category hotels), or whether instead Hyatt and Chase will promise that card holders will receive extra promotions going forward.
In this case, I value 5,000 GP points at more than the $75 annual fee for the card, so if they keep doing similar promotions it may be worth keeping the card.
I hadn't realized this. Thanks for posting it.
