Yes, the Orchid was wonderful- what a loss to Starwood. Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I do not want to go back and realize that I made a huge mistake, but Robert in Platinum Concierge reassured me over and over that they had spent millions on redoing all the rooms and landscaping and had just completed it at the end of last year. This is a special trip for my husband's 35th birthday, and I want it to be very nice, so it looks like I'll have to consider other options. Kind of strange they are saying it's all refurbished on the Plat. line...
