No one loves paying to park, but if you're looking for convenience and handy access to a car (i.e. not parking 17 blocks away from where you are), you'll be hard pressed to find parking a lot less expensive in DT Boston. If you're really looking to shave a few bucks off, you should know that there is a very small street level parking lot directly across the street from the Sheraton's primary entrance on Dalton St. It only holds perhaps 50 cars (give or take) and is often jammed M-F, but I've had luck parking there arriving late Friday afternoons and during the weekends. It's perhaps $8 less a night than parking in the hotel garage. That's about as good as it's gonna get unless you're really committed to parking for less and are willing to hike distances to get to things.

And, just leave the car in the garage the whole time and rely on the excellent public transportation. One can get from the Sheraton to Aquarium in short order for cheap on the T.
