My father sent me a picture the other day of a very old Mexican woman who had been stopped at an ICE checkpoint. She appeared to be fairly normal, until she was screened. She had what appeared to be more than 75 pounds of heroin or cocaine strapped to her body under her clothing. Imagine the damage that could have done had it been semtex.
Leanne has a metal back brace on. WTMD would have been useless. AIT less so, but it still would have required a pat down. A pat down is the only way for a TSO in such a situation to determine that no prohibited items are being introduced into the sterile area. If you know of another way, let’s hear it. Sure they pressed, that’s the job, and it’s required because of the things that can be hidden. There is plenty of information available on the web about what those could be, be a responsible consumer and make the effort to find out about them. From what Leanne said in her little story, she presented the screeners with a fairly complicated problem, one that they did their best in dealing with, and they did with integrity. She knew what she was getting into, she made a choice. Now she wants to complain about it. So, should I feel sorry for someone who has decided to subject themselves to something that they know will cause them pain? She obviously thought that the pain was worth the gain, otherwise she would have made different arrangements. No reason to feel sorry for her there.
Your reaction is gee she asked for it. Amazing response. Every time you post you reaffirm why TSA folks should have ZERO ability to perform these sadistic actions.
You gratuitously insulted a person that you had previously assured would be treated with respect when she traveled with a back brace. I believe the tone of that particulor post would properly be termed "unctuous". Yet she was assaulted just like she feared.
So we can see what these assurances are worth. They are worth about as much as the legal expertise.
They pressed on the back brace to see if it would cause her pain, and they gratuitously felt over her private parts. Did the brace extend down there? No.
Looking at every person at that airport as a dangerous terrorist having to be proved clear is ludicrous when you look at the odds. 700 million plus and no terrorist incidents. And this is certainly not due to your agencies high success rates at catching them. So far, you have caught no one.
Few if any other countries conduct themselves the way you folks do. That is a fact. Yet their record is on a par with TSA's. That TSA chooses to violate people's dignity, violate their own governing Constitution, and cause physical and mental pain, unlike those other countries' screeners, show that at base TSA is hostile to the passengers. Which is reflected in the language you directed at LeeAnn.
