CHEMIST661 HAS A GOOD POINT. Not only are you entitled to know why you were rejected for a credit ap, but once that happens, you can then apply for a free credit report for this cause alone.
However, no matter who you are, you should get a copy of your free credit report from each of the reporting agencies once per year. Unless you find a problem with one (and then need to check the others immediately), you can stagger the reports from each agency so you can see your credit report three times per year (averaging every four months, for example).
