I'm a novice to this board, but have tried to search for this issue but have been unsuccessful.

I'm a CO elite and have been for many years.

I just attempted to book SAT/MSY tickets, for April and for June. For April, booking thru United was $80 per ticket cheaper even though it is CO metal. For the June trip, $160 difference.

Friends have told me of same on international business class (e.g., $2800 through United, $6000+ on Continental, same plane).

Is this common, are there any good explanations, and remedies other than just book through United (this is more time consuming because of my status with CO). Thanks.
