In a paranoid country like the US, watch the fun unfold. (FWIW, I've never come across this "stash bags in the first available bin, other's convenience be damned" phenomenon in other countries / regions that I have traveled in).
That would be my tact. An unclaimed bag not in control of the owner. No need to resort to violence. God bless DHS.
Or if those self-entitled w@nkers had carried the bags and put them in the "over"head bins "over" their assigned seats, this discussion wouldn't be required, and everyone could get along with their lives.
