I think this practice (IMHO) is more prevalent with Europeans. Often cruisers are then off to sun by the pool or spend time in the spa; not wanting to return to their cabin. Of course, if the are wearing bunny bedroom slippers; then all bets are off.
Interesting thought - at least nobody wore Speedos. I think this passenger might have had an American accent. Oh, and her feet were bare.
