They have nothing to do with each other. Bad choice of name IMO. Double Black is a pure malt with a strong implication of Islay taste. if you like Balvenie or Bowmore you'll like this. If you're a fan of Black you'll think this stuff taste like mud. That is fine for me, leaves more of it for us.
