My take on the whole incident:

- The room should have been ready cause you informed them well in advance of your needs & they agreed to it.
- They didn't violate your privacy by any means as the hotel & the group rep had your details which are obligatory to make a booking.
- It was unprofessional on the group reps part to poke you, the gm did his duty by informing the group rep the case has been resolved.
- There is nothing wrong in flashing ur status card , you have earned it u deserve the benefits, but never arm twist the staff . there is a thin fine line between the two.
- Things might not go as planned always , hence learn to be flexible. You might have a confirmed room but there can be delays & instead of using last resort tactics ( calling cust rep etc) trying finding solutions amicable ie by requesting to use the gym to change & freshen up .
- All in all small incidents occur let bye gones be by gones & learn to move on in life !!
