Sign up bonuses of banking products are TAXABLE
This may be news to some of you.

I hope all of you who sign up for this also read the other thread of the 5K AA miles bonus on opening saving account - that the bonus from banking account is treated as Interest or Misc Income.

1099s have been sent out for those who have received the bonuses from banking products, and the miles are valued at a Retail price of 0.025 per mile...
