I guess it completely depends on what you're after, like you I love the calm of the CCR and even compared to the Club lounges (bar the B pier one) and the GF, its a very nice place to spend a couple of hours relaxing before your flight, yet alone the main terminal.
As you say, if you're after excitement, juggling waiters, pool tables, chef stations and the like, then you'd be better off at one of the bars/ restaurants in the main terminal
