Sounds like "Mid-Pacific Air". They went out of business in the 90's sometime. Horrible customer service but cheap airfares!

Born and raised in Honolulu and I've flown them quite a few times because they used to have "Kama'aina" fares. Show a HI driver's license, and the fares were dirt cheap.
