The 2 brands are totally different beasts and it really depends on what's your style!

Checking out this hotel in March about 10 days after opening. Whilst I am well-aware of the things that can go wrong with a brand new hotel, I have been looking forward to this W for a while. As massive W fans (me more so than him admittedly ), the OH and I had planned our trip to Bali around the W's opening and thought we'd left ourselves a pretty good buffer by going in March. We had non-refundable tickets to Bali due to very good sale fares that we jumped on back in August. I was a little sad when the opening was initially delayed till April - but no biggie, it's the risk you take with a new build. There are a few rather hip boutique resorts around the Seminyak area that I like (Elysian Villas is a personal fave with easy access to Ku de Ta ), and we'd actually been trying to plan another trip later in the year to check out the W.

So I was just PSYCHED when the W opened in time after all! Booked a cheapo Wonderful Room (Garden View). I was almost literally jumping up and down with excitement the entire evening after the booking was made. Despite the upgrade policy and any new hotel opening dramas - I am just SO looking forward to our stay and notching up another W under my belt! It's also my first W Retreat & Spa. Will try my best to come up with a comprehensive review.
