Yes, you can gift her the miles or she can purchase them herself. Bear in mind that there is a 25,000 mile limit per account per year.

When you "gift" miles, you are purchasing on her behalf - they do not come from your account.

I've always thought Skywards should lift the purchase/gift limit to be more in line with other carriers (ie 60,000+ per annum). But that's for another time...
