Just learned something new arising from the UACO merger.

Mrs. Lurker and I have an all UA metal outbound and a CO meal UA flight number (1st leg) and UA (2nd leg) return. Wanted to UG the outbound using 1 SWU from each pax account.

NO CAN DO! says 1K desk.

To do this (and the reason we cannot do it online) is that they have to first split the PNRs and then apply the UGs. Turns out that they cannot do so for a codeshare itinerary with CO metal.

So, no dice. Have to wait to apply the UG at the gate (which of course we won't need to hopefully because of UDU).

Anyone else know a work around.

Otherwise sounds like yet another good reason to originally book itineraries as separate PNRs
