I second this thought. The AMEX SPG card is similar with crediting elite nights/stays each year to cardmembers. Without this benefit, I will likely cancel my Hyatt VISA card when my first year is up, and probably only qualify for Gold Passport Platinum next year due to decreased work travel. However, if they were to automatically credit say... 5 stays towards elite membership each year to cardholders on their anniversary (similar to the SPG and Marriott cards), I would not only be more likely keep the card and pay the $75 to renew, but also likely stay more at Hyatt to maintain my Diamond status rather than settle for requalifying as Platinum next year.
