My favorite Satay Ayam was at a place I would classify as one step below a street hawker center (i.e., a guy on the roadside with a hibachi grill, a freezer chest and a folding table). It was in the village of Brinchang in the Cameron Highlands. I stopped to try one or two sticks and ended up eating every stick the guy barbecued. Simply amazing stuff when it's cooked right in front of you.
