Not a question, but a check-in agent told my colleague last year that he couldn't fly with his dog that day because it was only 12 degrees in Rome and pets can't fly in cargo when the ground temperature in the departure or arrival city is below 20F. He tried to explain that 12C in Rome was higher than 20F, but she refused to believe that there were two different scales for measuring temperature.
And a classmate of mine was once crossing the border to the US and was asked where she was from. She said, "Newfoundland". He said "So they haven't got around to giving it a name yet?" (And he wasn't joking.)
