I was on the phone to a supplier a few years back who was in SYD. I needed something rerouted to Roma, QLD and they didn't know where that was (no surprise - not a huge place) so I mentioned it was about a 5-6 hour drive west of BNE. She then exclaimed "oh so at the border then?".

Ah, no, luv. It's a big state. It's not even a third of the way there! I'd expect that from someone from a smaller country, but she lives in Australia - surely she has some concept of distances??
