I think the best benefit of Plat is the room upgrade although that's not guaranteed (depends on availability). Other benefits include guaranteed room availability (72 hours in advance) and also a 50% bonus in base points, which I also find invaluable in renewing my status.

Thanks. That is a good thread and I did review it recently but hard to guess what room category to book sometimes. It would be nice to have some decent guaraneed benefits, such as wifi or lounge access. It just seems to be very property specific and I think it would do PC well to make some of these things common benefits instead of having to roll the dice.
