Please post your Priority Club Elite experiences

I thought it might be useful to have a thread similar to the excellent Royal Ambassador experiences thread, but focusing on the Priority Club Elite experiences:

- What is your Priority Club status?
- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
- How are the rooms?
- How is the exec. lounge?
- What was good and what was bad?
- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

If you are an Gold or Platinum Ambassador, there is a dedicated thread for Ambassador Experiences.

London Mayfair HI: Paid for Regular Room and was upgraded to a corner Bus Exec Suite. Room was very large and overlooked the Ritz across the street.
I have recieved this upgrade 3 times from the hotel.

Amsterdam Schiphol CP: Paid for a Regular Room and upgraded to the private 5th Floor executive rooms. Have recieved this upgrade 5 stays in a row.

Maastricht Netherlands CP: Upgraded to a River View room with Balcony. Recieved this upgrade on two consecutive stays.

While you can never count on these upgrades, I have found that I consistently get one of the nicest rooms in the hotels when staying at HI and CP properties.

Doesn't this need to be "sticky"??

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum
- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked lowest cost room at 60 euro. Got upgraded to full suite, separate living room, microwave above refrigerator/minibar.
- How are the rooms?
Two full-size beds in long and narrow bedroom. Living room is decent size. Average Holiday Inn furnishing.
- How is the exec. lounge?
Don't think there is one.
- What was good and what was bad?
Unexpected upgrade, very nice fruit plate delivered quickly, better quality and quantity than at some ICs. Free overnight parking, free movie.
- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Would return if I have a car, as the hotel is located in a mixed business and residential area, public transportation is probably difficult. By car, it is probaby about 10 minutes from FRA.

Jet2K,

Thank you very kindly for making this a thread. Since most of us can’t find IC’s in many of our destinations, it will be nice to have a database of ICHG properties.

It’s long overdue, and will likely dwarf the IC RA thread in short order…

Jet2k

Shouldn't this be a sticky thread alongside the IC one?

Platinum

Yes

[/b]- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?[/b]
Company booked me a standard room for five nights. I emailed in advance requesting a NS room and an upgrade if available. I was upgraded from a standard room to an exective room on the first floor.

[/b]- How are the rooms?[/b]
The room itself was nothing spectacular. Usual executive room extras like robe, slippers, scales and more importantly a free bottle of water and a chunky kit-kat bar every day. Also has a stocked mini bar which the standard rooms do not.

The best rooms in this hotel are the corner rooms IMO as they are a bit bigger.

[/b]- How is the exec. lounge?[/b]
None
[/b]- What was good and what was bad?[/b]
Good hotel all round, 1 minute from Russell Sq tube station. Cheap food and drink in callaghans pub (chargable to room).
Bad - Early departure fee of 50% of remaining nights attempted to be added to reservation not visibile on PC website. As long as your reservation makes no reference to an EDF you should be able to talk them out of this.
[/b]- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?[/b]
Company pays so don't care. I would definately return though.

HI El Paso Airport

- What is your Priority Club status?
Platinum

- Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes, a full service hotel easily accesible to airport and in the middle of ELP

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked a standard King room on Gov't rate. Was upgraded to Concierge level Executive room w/club access.

- How are the rooms?
The room is nice, pretty much the same room I booked but with the upgraded amenities (robe, slippers, toiletries, etc) and a better view of pool

- How is the exec. lounge?
Very good. Hot breakfast in the morning, apps at night and free drinks (2 per guest) at night.

- What was good and what was bad?
Good - I was allowed to bring my coworker (who didn't get upgd to club level) with me at night for drinks. He too was given 2 free drinks.

Bad- Had to work for the "Battlefield" upgrade. They really don't like to upgrade to suites / club level even if they are available.

- Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Excellent value for money and I would (and have) returned.

2 free drinks!!! - I'd want unlimited free drinks if I had club access regardless of paid for/upgrade/reward night.

Nope, it was just 2 drinks per person per night. And that was regardless of whether you paid or were upgraded into it. It's their policy and it was fine for me. We'd have a couple of Dos Equis before heading out for dinner.
