I dislike Apple. I dislike the premise which their products are based on - limit their functionality so that users can't break them. IMO this applies to everything Mac.

I carry a HTC Desire and am always tinkering with new ROMs.

Even so, in looking for a travel tablet, I have resigned myself to the fact that the iPad is the best choice so far. Android has caught up quickly, but it is undeniable that Apple is still the app king. For instance, it's almost 2011, and Facebook cannot push out a decent Android app while their iOS version is top-notch.

There is simply too much fragmentation in the Android community right now. Too many manufacturers pushing out too many devices running too many different versions of Android, with no track record of updating the software regularly.

In terms of OS, I do not consider Froyo ready for tablet implementation, and I don't expect Gingerbread to improve that aspect significantly. I am hoping for a good matchup between a Honeycomb tablet vs iPad 2 in some months.
