They said that even if I did that, I wouldn't get the miles because the system keeps track that I received miles in 2008 and 2009 and that I would have to wait over 6 months to be eligible again. What should I have said in response? I opened my current account on 12/5/09, and it is still open today.
And I trust those who have done so successfully NEVER went to the bank to do what you did, i.e. tell them to close the account and then open a new account simultaneously...
On top of that, the language of the Ts and Cs have changed sometime midyear that specifically mentioned for New Accounts only.
Finally most who tried to do repeated promo closed their accounts as soon as the 6 months after account opening have passed...
