I doubt that. The $30k initial threshold gave a rough idea as to where one needs to be... and is in line with what some have reported as sufficient for being invited for GS.

Much easier? The UA requirements are murky, but there are more ways to qualify for GS.
Some have qualified with two transpacific round trips in Z, one year some were told they could re-qualify by flying 50k miles on fares B,Y or higher.
Let me add the occasional offers to fast track into GS... such as spend $12k over the next couple of months. See
