As a former NW employee, I've never flown FC/BE so much until two years ago. It's a benefit for working for Delta whether one is a contract employee or non-union employee.
Benefits like non-rev travel are a perk for Delta employees. Keep the employees happy, keeps the union out. Unhappy employees will make the service nosedive.
One has to ask about a revenue model that provides free elite travel to non-paying individuals vice paying customers. Ever wonder why your PMUs are so hard to use?
Many of us get that this is contrived to keep the union out @:-)
