Pan Am actually bought the assets and slots from Frank Lorenzo New York Air. Remember the red 737s with the apple on the tail?

So the two shuttles' lineage actually goes:

#1: Eastern (circa 1965) --&gt; Trump (circa 1990) --&gt; UsAir --&gt; American?

#2: New York Air (circa 1985) --&gt; Pan Am (circa 1986) --&gt; Delta.

It's easier now to count the majors that HAVEN'T run a Shuttle...
