FWIW we just stayed there for two nights and, unlike the Millenium Hilton, they upgraded the second room as well without charge (Mrs. Fredd's brother and his wife) so I can't imagine they'd try to charge for your son - the staff will probably try to spoil him. They do enforce a modest dress code in the lounge so just make sure your son has "indoor" wear - we spent most of our time in shorts otherwise.

Wonderful hotel! ^ ^ I certainly never stayed in anything like it at the age of 13.
