I redeemed 65,000 United miles for a RT flight from Boston to Jakarta, Indonesia on Lufthansa. I will have a 16 hr transit in Frankfurt. Looking for advice from those who are familiar with the airport. I have no status with United.
My plan so far:
1. LH423 BOS-FRA. Arrive in Frankfurt at 5:30am, Terminal 1, gate B.
2. Get a cup of coffee and relax for a couple of hours at Lufthansa Welcome Lounge - located immediately behind the baggage claim area.
2. Leave my carry-on luggage at the Luggage Storage service nearby

3. Buy a Frankfurt Card, also at Terminal 1, gate B. Go sightseeing for a few hours.

4. Return to the airport around 6pm.
5. Retrieve my carry-on at Terminal 1
6. Go to Terminal 2 for my next flight, LH778 FRA-SIN-CGK departing at 10:10pm
From the airport map, I see that Sheraton Hotel is attached to the airport. I’m tempted, but I don’t think it’s worth it to book a room just for a few hours of nap.
