This is true now, you used to get HH Points and stay credits but not anymore it seems. I also regularly had a free breakfast in cafe 2 also (which is far better than the lounge brekky). Generally it was better to just buy lounge drinks and snacks and have the residence suite (I liked the 1 bed alcove suite or the 2 bed) as you still saved compared to even the most basic (less well equipped) hotel suite.

Now without HH credits and benefits you are better off elsewhere. I spent several months in the Marriott Mayfair a few years ago and it is a better proposition in a better location.
