what kind of reservation did you make online?
The free night vouchers book with same code as
points (reward) reservations. So if you make a
points reservation they can apply the cert. The reservation will stay as a points reservation, but when you present the cert to the hotel, it keeps the hotel from pulling the points).
But they can't apply the cert to
paid reservation.
So you can figure out online if it's a reservation you can apply the cert to by trying to make a points reservation. Only if you can make a points reservation could you make a free night voucher reservation.
