Check this link to the first Deutsche Lufthansa (later to become Interflug) Timetable in 1957: http://www.timetableimages.com/ttima...h57/dh57-6.jpg

This seems to suggest that fares were charged for Interflug service from Berlin to New York via Amsterdam however, there were no schedules to support these fares.
