I do that all the time. I fly on mixed AA-US tickets that I buy from Expedia. I use EBATES as the starting portal (you get 1% cash back from Expedia) then book the ticket. BE will not let you claim credit for a ticket within 14 days of the beginning of the trip. So I set up myself a reminder in Outlook for 14 days in the future with the date of the flight, the AA ticket number and the fare paid. I have not had a problem yet with this system.
I just joined BE a few weeks ago, but just flew on an itinerary that I purchased several months ago. Can I request points for those 14 days after completion of the trip? Or must I have been a BE member during the purchase of the tickets?
