Obviously, the pros are staying in a supposedly wonderful hotel vs. an "ok" one. The cons are- although its a honeymoon, we are going to be out and about in the city a lot, thus I'm not really sure how much we'll use the hotel. I'm only a HH Silver, so I wont get access to the lounge (crappy or not).

Urgghhh decisions, decisions.....
In my post above I mentioned the Aventine properties. There are 3 that are operated by the same company and the one at the highest end is San Anselmo which has been recently renovated and seems VERY honeymoon appropriate. Out of curiousity I plugged in the dates for November 20 to November 27 and see a rate for their Deluxe Double of €144, and the Double is €120. It's a very well reviewed property you might want to consider.

This is just one option - again, you have MANY others - more than just the choice between the Cavalieri and Termini-tourist ones.

And if you haven't already, check out our Italy forum, there's a recent thread you may find helpful, Honeymoon in Rome advice.
