While I agree the 744 in Y is not a pleasant 14 hour ride, in J it's fine, and arguably an improvement over the recliners on the 772 that used to run this route. For business class travelers ex-NYC, who presumably drive a fair amount of revenue, the 744 is indeed an upgrade.
