Problems with LNF due to "currency fluctuations"

Hi helpful forum-people,
I had my first success with LNF today and my first failure! I need help understanding the failure and potentially how to fix it. I found Marriott York (UK) for $138 at multiple websites online. Rate quoted was 105 GBP (appx $162) and my claim was denied for the following reason:

"After careful review of your claim, it has been determined that the rate difference you observed is the result of variations in currency exchange rates utilized by the reservation sources to which you have referred."

Now I have no problem if a week (or a month) ago the conversion rates were such that the 105 GBP was less than the $138, but to have that happen, the pound would have had to be worth $1.31, which hasn't happened as far back as I can search.

How should I proceed? I replied back to the LNF claim denial, but it looks like it goes to some sort of generic drop-box. Should I
a) try again, using a different comparison website? (there were many offering this same rate)
b) send an email to somewhere else outlining the situation?
c) enjoy the fact that I got one approval today on another stay and fugeddaboutit
d) something else?

Any help will be much appreciated. I'm not new to Marriott, but I am new to the forum and the LNF process.
Mike
P.S. One poster awhile ago referred to the fact that there is a LNF support thread, but I couldn't find it despite much searching (could be operator error) so please excuse me if this should be posted somewhere else.
