I have met maclover in torino when I was there for the olympics, he knows his stuff. I remember eating at the Coloseum restaurant which was very good.

I honestly don't like Silvano that much. Good gelato but I much prefer Grom (in piazza Paleocapa near central Porta Nuova station) or Fiorio (in Via Po half the way between Piazza Castello and Piazza Vittorio).
Grom is now a very well established gelato-chain in Italy and worldwide but still wonderful. I love theirs "c'era una volta" and "fiordilatte". The one I mentioned is the very first one that opened some years back, but you can find at least some others in the city (Via Lagrange, Via Garibaldi in city center)
