I'll be in Turin mid October. Staying near the train station. Can you recommend any traditional Trattorias or good Pizzerias within short walking distance of the main train station? Nothing fancy, just really good food at a fair price. Local clientele.

Also, we want to use Turin as a base and take a few day train trips. Generally we can leave around 10am and I have to be back by 3:30 to work. Can you recommend a few small interesting town close by for a day trip?
