I think the issue is broader than just those reservations requiring passports.

I was unable to check in on-line for my last two trips... when I tried to access my itinerary through the new glitz and glitter pages.

But, if I access the itinerary through the link on the "It's time to check in" e-mail, which bypasses the new blue smoke and mirrors, I have no problem.
