There is a saying , if its not broken, then dont touch it, their was nothing wrong with the old system of earning points per mile and i have no chance of ever getting gold again, so i have no incentive at all of even trying and with the amount of miles i do normally (48,000) i wont have make silver if all my flights are savers which would mean that i would only get 24,000.
i did however get a incentive out of emirates by giving me Gold by allowing me to fly back 2 days after my cut off date of 31st May and claiming gold.

i am not touching my miles for free flights untill i am back down to silver and by time i have used my free miles, I will be back down to blue and might start looking at other carriers.

i agree that their should be another level for 100,000 and again for 200,000 but it should be for miles flown and none of this flex and saver.

I dont even look at the gifts because they are over priced and cheaper paying cash for them.

Emirates is a good product, But others are catching up fast.
