Given that it takes a minimum of 25000 miles for a domestic round trip, "over 30000" is very little actually, since it's
just over the amount needed for a single domestic coach restricted award, and since in the typical (points.com or otherwise) transfer (to
anywhere else) you tend to lose
at least half the value.
So even if you could transfer to another airline, you'd only end up with "over 15000" miles, and where would that get you?
Meanwhile, it is so much easier to get at least 25000 CO miles miles just by applying for their credit card. So with just a successful credit card application and whatever the minimum spend and/or annual fee is for the bonus, you'd have almost as much over at CO without having touched your Delta miles.
I understand that your Delta miles may not get you where you want to go
right now, but they're still of more use kept alive as Delta miles for a later time when you
will be able to use them, either on Delta or on its parnter Alaska Airlines or on one of its SkyTeam Alliance partners.
If Delta Skymiles is not working for you, just add to that account enough to keep those miles alive until you find a use for them, and meanwhile start accumulating something else.
