but it looks like WorldMate only works on smart phones. Right now I have a dumb phone, so maybe I can find something similar.

Since you have a dumb phone (this made me LOL BTW - thank you for that ), one possible alternative is to use the one-time flight notification tool on delta.com:

It's tedious in that you must currently do it for all departures/arrivals in your itinerary, but I have found it to work pretty well giving me flight status updates and gate change information. I'm also a nerd and I like to know exactly what gate I'm pulling into as soon as I touch down.
