If you search back through this forum, you will see that this used be allowed - especially in the days of paper tickets:
the destination of one coupon could be say LON
and origination of the next coupon could also be LON
and the fact that one was say LHR and the other LGW didn't matter

The 'enhancement' of going to eTicketing resulted in this being lost, along with the 20 flights
