The UAE authorities usually does not disclosure this kind of news as it might affect the safety image the country MUST show to the world according to them. In any other country this would have been headlines for a while... even though there were not casualties and the crew might have done a good job to evacuate the passengers.

What a load of crap that is! Check the news and you will see some reports of engine shut downs mid flight, recalled flights etc-- this is just not news worthy -- but FT worthy!!
Aborted take off and landings are a fairly regualr occurence in the aviation field -- so of course, uneventful ones like this , are not (front page) news.
