Speaking as a Swede I would say that this is generally more accurate than any bias towards certain nationalities. The heavy unionization (if that's a word) means that for service related jobs means there is very little reliance on tips to get by (a waitor for ex has a marginally lower wage than an industrial worker). There are always exceptions of course. I know the mid-day manager at the W Barcelona is Swedish having excelled at the Sheraton Stockholm, the only Starwood property in Sweden.
