matintin and I were talking about this not long ago. It depends on the value of your car. If it is of reasonable value then it makes sense to either put it on a train or have it driven out somehow. If not, then the cost of wear & tear etc and the voyage would be more trouble than it's worth. In the situation we discussed, the car was too old and of little value, so it would not have made sense to drive it out or pay for shipment. Hope this helps for ideas!
